Attempting to hide behind some kind of identity with the great British press was of course risible. The gods had other ideas. Slowly, and with fluctuating enthusiasm, I came to complete the training as a colour therapist. It wasn’t much of an effort. So much of what we had to learn I mysteriously already knew. I failed to enquire how or why, but determined that once this was done, I would return to journalism with perhaps a little healing on the side.

I was invited to give a talk on colour to a healing study group run by writer and journalist Anthea Courtenay. It was 1990, and the explosion of interest in alternative medicine and therapies was more of an infant rumble. Anthea had lined up some interesting speakers for her autumn programme. When I was asked if I would like to join the group I said yes. So it was that I came to meet Ian Graham, the channel for someone, or some kind of intelligence, called White Bull.

I arrived that evening extremely sceptical. I had a vague awareness of mediums like Doris Stokes and had never heard of ‘channelling’. Ian explained how, having run some kind of internal, previously agreed checking system on the nature of the incoming communication and found a match, he would surrender to a trance state and White Bull would begin to speak through him. So it was that I watched a well-dressed man living in 20th century London change posture, facial expression and then vocal tones until there in our midst was a native American wise guy with a voice like liquid love.

White Bull began by addressing the group. This was the time of the Gulf Crisis. Could war be averted? He advised us of the power of thought and how we could “drop bombs of light” upon the scenario. I was intrigued. I had ‘heard’ exactly the same advice on my internal communications system. I distinctly remembered that military image catching my attention as I walked to the post box only a day or so before. Back in the group, White Bull invited questions. I began to know the answers before he spoke. After a while I thought how laboriously drawn out this process was. Why couldn’t people just ask the question in their head and get the answer? Within seconds White Bull spoke of how eventually people wouldn’t need to consult or seek guidance through another, for they would be able to converse silently within.

Two months later Ian returned to the group for another WB session. This time there were a large number of guests. Energetically the gathering felt different, less harmonious, more greedy for something. Once again, however, White Bull began with an introduction familiar to me, almost word for word. This time I ventured to ask a question. I reckoned that I pretty much knew the answer. I didn’t get much of a reply. Internally there was a gentle rebuke.

That night I slept fitfully, unable to rid myself of a persistent visual image of Ian Graham. By the time I had done the school run and walked the dogs, an image of his face was between “me” and everything that I looked out upon. I was getting messages for him too. Bugger off, I muttered. I’m not in the least bit interested in any of this. But his face would not go away.

Eventually I telephoned Anthea Courtenay. Ian had already contacted her, disturbed by the general tone of the previous evening. She suggested that he might appreciate hearing from me. I called. He came to see me, not once but several times, and that was the end of my pretending to be a journalist first and a bit of healer second.

It happened like this. A few people connected to a colour healing circuit knew about me, so I was not surprised when someone unfamiliar phoned and asked for an appointment. At the end of our conversation she added “White Bull suggested that I see you”. Not Ian Graham, then, but this other character. Ian had gone into trance and part of his client’s advice from Mr Bull was to come and see me. Ask my instrument for the details, White Bull told her. This lady was the first of very many. I appeared to have got myself a celestial agent.

I went to have a session with White Bull myself, Ian going into trance, WB turning up and me asking questions. It was enormously reassuring. I had quite a few understandings about little me and the cosmos but I wasn’t going to tell anyone. Since they were all on my internal private network, how was I to know what might be delusion, misunderstanding or dead-on accurate? Occasionally something external occurred that boosted my confidence in the internal. When, rarely, that involved another human being, increased confidence teetered into excitement. Instinctively I felt this to be dangerous territory, like an invitation to the ego to run wild in a minefield. Like most of humanity, I felt misunderstood by very many people. To be known, especially by a stranger, was thrilling. Around this time I was introduced to Vicki Wall, founder of Aurasoma. She looked at me with unfocused eyes, her sight the worse for diabetes. “I don’t know what you’re doing as a journalist. You’re a healer. More than that, you’re a planet healer.” So someone else knows, I thought.

The chances of White Bull knowing something about me seemed high. Did it matter whether that was someone I barely knew called Ian Graham, or some warm, loving intelligence with which for many years I had been privately in communion, who now showed up on the outside wrapped in the mantle of a life in another time as a native American? Were White Bull and Ian Graham one and the same? If so, how? And how come WB began to refer to me as his “other instrument”?

Fourteen years on I very much doubt I could improve upon the explanations offered by White Bull through Ian back in 1991 and 1992. So these I share, along with other extracts from external conversations between WB and myself. But first, one intriguing event took place in ’91. To that same healing study group came two women who were researching brain waves. They brought with them a machine that gave separate readings for alpha, beta, delta and theta wave activity in left and right hemispheres of the brain. I was wired up. I found that I could at will excite and still delta and theta waves independently in left and right hemispheres. The researchers were startled. “You seem to have conscious control of the unconscious.”

In the following extracts I have made no adjustment to the sometimes peculiar sentence structure. Although many of the points made related specifically to me at that time I imagine they may now be significant or relevant to others. All these external conversations took place between January 91 and August 94 on five or six occasions only. Thereafter the usefulness of WB referring people to me waned. I ceased to feel drawn to consult him as a channelled entity. Internally I stopped having conversations or hearing guidance from a clearly separate source. Somehow me and him/It/the voice of gods, goddesses, guardians, angels or my friends on other frequencies had merged.

My First Valediction

So my friend, as you are clearly aware, this meeting now arises by kind arrangement of your higher self. And it is on behalf of that part of you that I shall address you. I am merely an instrument through which that is which is highest in you, which is the agent of truth, can express itself.

That which you are contributing may seem to be a modest contribution, but it is not. It is more than a drop in the ocean. And the ocean, remember, is made up of drops. It is not for you ever to concern yourself with how far-reaching or otherwise your contribution is. All that matters, with your contribution is motive. There is no success, there is no failure, there is your motive, there is your intent, and if that intent is true, which it is, then that contribution resonates throughout the universe. Because the universe resonates only to the vibration of truth.

So even in the farthest reaches, beyond even the comprehension of your finite mind, that which emanates from you that is in harmony with truth, is experienced there. So be true to self. And not only for that contribution extend out love so that it will come back to you. You cannot give without receiving in far greater measure. And I bring you much love, and blessing, and gratitude on my own behalf, and on behalf of the angelic helpers, the nature kingdom, the animal kingdom, all those degrees of divinity that your present incarnation touches.

On sound and its use in healing

JS: I quite often hear sounds within me which I know come from beyond where we are now. Can you say something about them?

That is related to the degree of awakening in the throat chakra. Because you will find that if you focus your attention upon your throat, which you frequently do, you will find that you are listening. And so you will hear through your throat these sounds which would not be discernible through the physical channel. You are hearing them through the throat, through the microphone which is the centre of creativity and expression. Many of the master composers of your civilisation heard what they composed through the throat.

You are hearing other frequencies which are not connected necessarily to earth. They are surrounding the earth of course, they are always present but there are very few who are actually able to tune in to them. We wouldn’t want to specify they were from other planets as such because every planet is part of the same universe. So every planet vibrates also at its own frequency and has its own sound. In the same way that your identity in a spiritual sense is acknowledged through a sound which has nothing to do with a name. And so we could say also that what you pick up at times are names, they are other energy sources which you are connecting with. And you are connecting with them at that vibrational frequency. So they could be, in your case also, some of your guides. If you are able to keep a track upon the different sounds that you hear you may be able to identify a source of intelligence or whatever through that sound.

JS: Am I being used as a transmitter for them?

Oh yes, you are. But the sounds that you hear, and of course there will be other senses that will be excited at another level, like smell and colour. This is something that you are reaching with one level of self but which is filtering through, through the hands, through the voice or whatever. It is toned down a little, it is brought down in its vibration so that it is reaching those that you are working with. But only you are able to hear it as that pure sound like a dog whistle.

This extract on the same subject comes from a client who returned to WB after experiencing healing with sound in a session with me.

Every sound has a vibration and every particle of matter responds to a vibration, as for example, a very high note will match the vibration of a glass and it will crack. The two will harmonise. So, when a sound is emitted as part of the healing process, those sounds are harmonising with the vibration, perhaps of your liver, or of another part which is containing a negative energy. As the two harmonise, therefore that which is contained within it is removed. Because you are then bringing your liver into the appropriate vibration, harmony rather. It is vibrating at its proper rate. You are matching it at its proper rate and it responds to that.

I liken it in a sense to panning for gold. As White Bull I observed white man panning for gold. They had a tray and they would shake it and as they shook it that which was not gold would fall through the mesh and they would be left with pure gold. Of course, the faster they shook it, the quicker that which was not pure gold would fall through.

So it is like the vibration that is set up in part of the physical body, the faster it vibrates, the more that which is negative or inappropriately living within that organ can fall away and you are left with the pure gold.

Are the high notes fast and lower notes slower?

No, it is about density. So different parts of even one organ are varying in density. So, yes, you could apply a note, perhaps a high note and observe, feel its resonance perhaps in the third eye or in the throat. You could feel it in the physical body, but it would also perhaps be vibrating with another part of your physical body, that you are not so much in touch with, but it has a similar density to the part in your throat or third eye.

One of the punishments carried out in the time of the Egyptian civilisation was for the human body to be disintegrated as a result of sound. So that literally the vibration of the sound was so intense that the body would disintegrate because the sound would reach the overall vibration of that body. And it would turn to dust. There was also, as part of the Chinese civilisation, the torture of being tied to the inside of a giant bell. And vibration and sound were used that way.

But you see there is also importance in the combination of notes. There are certain combinations of notes that will add a resonance that can work to open certain centres. So you could use a combination of notes that will work upon the heart centre.

Yes, some of the sounds did appear to be two notes. One sound made in which there was a higher part and lower part from the same sound.

So things were shifting of course, like any sound. You may strike a bell but even after you can no longer hear the resonance of the bell the vibration is still taking place.

Sound plays a part in the holding together of the universe. You see at a spiritual level you are known by a vibration. And that vibration could also be known as a sound. Or as music. And there are many analogies in human relationships that confirm this, by people playing music together when they are in harmony with one another. When two human beings are in harmony with one another, perhaps brought together by a deep emotional bonding, there is a beautiful music that can be heard coming from that union.

Healing and simplicity

Of course there is no end to the number of different facts and techniques available to healers, but what we are seeing as being the general direction is through your own purification a simplification of the process of healing. So that we could say we are aiming towards is the ability to heal by simply a verbal command. By being able to develop the control over physical matter almost along the lines of those words you may know “Take up thy bed and walk”. That sort of degree of mastery over matter.

So, simplicity. Allow these adjustments to take place, refining you. And seek just further accord and harmony with these laws that are now conducting and controlling your life. You need to have a greater degree of dominion so that you are actually working with such a perfect relationship with the highest aspects of self that you can through thought and through the spoken word, instantly create your reality.

It is to work with the creative laws. By working again with the laws of attraction. Money makes money. It is not the money itself that makes it but the attitude of abundance, which you have.

Sound and the sacred

JS says: It seems to me that sound plays an important part in bringing light into the physical body. Should I encouraged people to sing, to make sounds?

Definitely. Definitely we would recommend certain kinds of chanting that feels right with that individual. And releasing emotion for example. There are many stifled lions who seek to roar their rage but who dare no. Much can be released through sound from the physical body as a negative emotion. And can be drawn in as a positive emotion.

There are certain combinations of sound that resonate with a certain truth to work upon different chakras. It is a combination of notes which you would find intuitively. In some of the old Gregorian chants they vibrate very harmoniously but important also is the intention behind them. There has been a loss of awareness of that which is sacred. And so there has to be a developing of the sacredness of the physical body. The body as a temple. The sacredness of some music, the sacredness of food, of the gifts of the earth. This is all bringing man into harmony with the vibrations of truth. We would like to see more blessing of food. Blessing of each other.

The Natural World

So you have a close relationship with, you vibrate harmoniously with many of the elemental kingdoms and animal kingdoms. And there is always the purpose of drawing other people’s attention to discovering God in that surrounding and to awaken through your own enthusiasm other people to that. So that is a purpose even if it is just a small number of people. To use a natural analogy, from little acorns oak trees grow. So it will spread and those who relate to the elemental kingdoms, to the nature kingdoms, to the mineral kingdoms, to the tree kingdoms, they will be used to spread their message.

Strengthening the physical body

Everyone will have to come to strengthening that at some point in their evolution. Those that are open to spiritual energies, there we are seeing the synthesis taking place where there cannot be any more the division between the spiritual and the physical, everything must be spiritualised. So if that is to happen then the vibrations of the physical body have to be that that energy can be contained within all parts of it. Otherwise co-creation cannot really take place.

The true mystical marriage is between the material and the spiritual. So that co-creation would be the working relationship, that which happens between the physical and spiritual coming together and thereby giving to individuals the power to be able to, with the simplest of thoughts, create a desired reality. Such as in the healing command “take up thy bed and walk”. That can only happen with that synthesis.

Transformation

The process you have set about is through your desire, through your aspiration and through your belief in what is possible in putting aside beliefs in what the physical body can or cannot accomplish. In the process of transformation that you have begun within your physical body through conscious determination and desire, there are going to be changes, cleansing, reorganisation within the cells, freeing of toxins, freeing of imbalances in metals, elements and chemicals and all of that remembering that essentially you’re just one big chemical compound.

There will have to be the balancing of that compound into a stability to allow the light in. So the process continues primarily through your desire. It is just that longing that has liberated you from life below the clouds. Now having freed yourself from, to extend the analogy, the gravitational pull of the laws of earth you are now travelling out on your own orbit and as such the further you go away from that pull the more your body is free to be able to realign itself, to be receiving that degree of light into it which will allow the total liberation and defiance not only of the laws of earth but of every law of the cosmos. Then you will come into your true enlightenment.

That will manifest as having total command not only over your own beingness but also with the authority to have command over another. Of course with it will come the absolute wisdom and above all humility. It was only on reaching that point that the Master Jesus could say “ on my own I am nothing”.

The more you go into that state of preparation to receive the light, the more you are aware of the light working through you, the more you give away to the light, the more you, the ego being, put yourself completely out of the way, which is not to disappear, but it is to become much more with a greater sense of self, but with a greater sense of self in relationship to the enormity of the power of the light to work through you.

So this has always to be borne in mind: that the good that happens through you is the God that happens through you and that you are a vehicle for it but on your own you are nothing with it. It brings you perfectly to the state where you are a walking miracle and therefore miracles can happen around you. It’s not to show the world what you can do it’s to show the world what it can do for itself. To be an inspiration. The Christ in you will draw people up to that same level. The parts of people, even the cells of their body, respond to be close to you so you can even walk past somebody and their cancer will go. But you don’t have to know about it consciously.

So focus upon your desire and your praise and your hunger for the will of the highest to manifest through you in its time. Of course what it means, as I mention time, and indeed this is already happening, that you are frequently going in and out of patches of timelessness. That the journey is not a horizontal one but a vertical one. So time and even space are quite often an irrelevance to you. You are not bound by either. This will become even more apparent, that you will not be contained by any of the laws of earth. What it will also give you of course is that wonderful opportunity to find yourself working side by side with us. In a way that you have not known before. And many of those who have gone ahead of you who have departed from the physical plane, you will then meet again in this way. That’s when we discover, you and me and all who are my friends and all of your friends that we are but one body, one energy.

Healing the earth

Above all it is to present within yourself an embodiment of that harmony and that peace and that purity that you seek also to be embodied wholly within your earth. Essentially it is the healing of mankind that will lead to the healing of the earth. Not the other way round. Until there is no greed, no fear, no aggression the earth cannot properly heal itself.

On the Gulf War

All that is happening now is a manifestation of pain and a need for love. Every individual who is taking part, not only those who are leaders, but those who are merely foot soldiers are drawn to the energy of aggression. So together you have an army that needs much healing. It is only love. And this whole giant sore, this giant wound is a result of the great love working in your planet. And love draws to the surface anything which is not like itself. So through this conflict now we hope it will work itself through the cleansing of the wound. It will be a wound that will not be healed at once. It has been a festering wound for a long time. Now it is coming to a crisis. But it is a wound that must be healed.

Teamwork

You are working as part of a team. We could say that you personally are ready to have the purpose revealed, but there are those in the team who are not yet ready. And as your purpose is very much connected one to the other it requires you all to come to the boil at the same time. So in some respects we could say you were being kept on a back burner. Now you have taken upon you, you have agreed as part of your pre-natal contract, to be not quite a platoon leader as such ( the true leadership comes from the higher dimensions), but you have taken on a responsibility.

You are still living in a world of extremes. You may be able to touch a very high spiritual vibration and especially when it is needed for you, you will be able to touch it and work with it. But you cannot be expected yet to maintain it at all times. So especially where there is this extreme of vibration that you are touching, it serves to weaken the fabric in the same way that if you constantly pulled taut and then relaxed a piece of elastic it would put great pressure upon it. Therefore it might be liable to snap or develop a weakness. Man has yet to learn the need for all parts of himself, all component bodies to be functioning at the same strength. When that wholeness, that true wholeness is present, then protection is always there.

But because you are the pioneers in this field of working with energy then it is inevitable that not everybody is going to be even aware of some of the bodies present in their overall make-up. There have been past civilisations that have had strength in all of their bodies, and future generations will have it too. But you are providing a bridge in a sense, between the old and the new. So your traditions are still rooted in the old, your first span is in the old and your are reaching out to the new. And already others are using you as that bridge.

Spiritual Law v Material Law

There are these two systems vying for domination and many people are torn between living by the old legal system and the new one. And it takes a leap of faith, yes, to say well, I give up working with the old system. I’m now going to invest in the new. And so people are in two different camps. On the one hand they are trying to make spiritual law provide their need, on the other hand they’re also looking to the material laws of earth to meet their needs and you can’t be in two places. So there will be this conflict, like two rivers coming together, they will flow side by side for a while before one disappears into the other. Before it becomes one single stream.

JS: And how best can one help someone in letting go of the old system?

First they will find that the old system simply isn’t working. They will be given no option. And as anybody who is involved in the new system, who has a sense of how it operates, it is to manifest through example. It is this favourite saying of mine, I come back to it again (it is sometimes taken in jest, but it is meant seriously) in being a good advertisement for God, for Truth. Because it is all very well, yes, there are those coming to you who experience this, but it must be clear to them that what they see in you is an accomplishment of living by that law.

And also many of my friends, indeed all of them, and to some extent that includes you up to this point in your incarnation, you have been muddling through. You have been experiencing a dummy run. As soon as the courage is found to try spiritual law, those laws you will find will work for you in a new way. It is not quite yet, it is in your later time of your spirit that the real energy will come, that it will bring you what you want.

So much emphasis has been placed upon the spiritual being that it is the human being that is becoming important. The human being as a spiritual force. But the spirit infiltrating into the human so that the human becomes whole, not so that the human is dissolved to reveal just pure spirit. So part of the human experience is to be manifesting fullness, abundance in all areas of life. That roundedness of life. As a foundation for many thousands of years to come.

The trumpet call and the time of Christ

The trumpet call was a phrase that often occurred when White Bull spoke to groups of people. He also frequently referred to the “Vanguard Army”, which I took to mean that company of self-selected people who were to be the mould-breakers, making way for something new.

You see, the higher selves are leading the beings on. So one can move forward smoothly or one can move forward kicking and screaming, but either way that point of arrival has to be met by a particular call.

JS: Do you mean in terms of earthly time?

Yes, absolutely. When the trumpet call arrives.

JS: And this is to synchronise with what is happening at the universal level?

Absolutely. And yes, the chaos happening at another level will be the sense of the unfamiliarity. And so the function of the Vanguard Army will be to teach, to instruct. The chaos will be in the breaking down of that which is run by man-made laws. The human legal system and the spiritual legal system will have to fight it out. So that the error of the human legal system can be made clear and people can create their lives through spiritual law. And eventually it would lead of course to the disbanding of every law enforcement. It will not be needed. We are talking here about long term, but the treatment of those who are currently labelled criminal will not be through the prisons, but it will be through healing.

So there you need only turn to the example of the master Jesus. And those of you who are now part of the Vanguard Army , of course you were receivers of the unadulterated version of the Gospel. And so what your function is, is that everything that the master Jesus said was possible to his followers will now become a reality. So miracles will be two a penny. Because you will be gaining control of the law of manifestation. The healings taking place will be of a nature as yet only rarely experienced. And those of you who received this early message, now is the time that you are having the chance to live it, because you can do so openly. There will not be the fear of persecution.

Togetherness

You need each other because the burdens that you are carrying are great and you cannot be expected to work in isolation especially when you are all having the degree of sensitivity that you all have. It makes you too vulnerable to be working on your own. Inevitably your sensitivity would be eroded and it would work very negatively and very much against you. So the networking and the groups that are gathering, the circles that are gathering, of course they are old connections. It is the law of attraction that is bringing you all together to relive if you like some circle that you have been connected to in the past.

But certainly to strengthen each other and because when there is a group together then the light emanating from that group is far more powerful than you could possibly imagine. So powerful. And if the chemistry is correct between those are working together, if they are in harmony with one another, then not only does that light emanate from that group to serve the universe but also all within the group must draw that same energy and be strengthened by it. And enable you then to go out and continue your individual tasks.

The individual tasks are important because there is your uniqueness and you have all a unique purpose. And that must be allowed to flourish. It is in your uniqueness and your perfect expression of your individuality that you find your perfect joy. But that uniqueness is strengthened in its purpose by being rooted in a sense of oneness which you would find in a group situation.

You need a group not only for the work that you will do as a group, but also as a support team. There may be times when you experience a bumpy ride. The vehicle that survives a bumpy ride is that which has the good suspension. And so your group is your suspension. So you do not feel the bumps because you are buoyed up and supported by that quality of light which is vibrating from your own heart and spirit.

Opposition and saboteurs

In chaotic forces, saboteurs, whatever, presenting themselves, it is only an invitation for you to engage in that. And so the habit that must be broken is the need to engage it. To rise above it. You know there is a point at which these energies cannot reach. This is why all who are in the Vanguard Army need to have the strength and support of the wholeness of their lives so that they are not a weak link and therefore liable to engage in this combat.

You see if you look at basic human psychology, if you think in terms of the army. If the army is well-fed, well-clothed, well-armed and well-houses, then it will follow its leader. So whatever these human needs are of the Vanguard Army, well-paid and well-loved might also be included in this, then there is not going to be a falling behind.

So whatever is happening, we still say that there is no need for any who are part of our helpers to fear. We want that to be eradicated from your language. Words referring to tragedies, disasters. If something takes place either at a physical, earthly level or whatever, and as a result of it some human beings are separated from their physical body, good for them.

Death and heaven on earth

There needs to be, as a part of your education also, and this will be easier as the new energies come and there is that closer sense of heaven on earth, that the whole notion of death which troubles many, will be eased. You see it will not start, it cannot really start until the climate is right. Until, through this new energy which is coming there is a sense of this other dimension. Not just something that you may believe in or have faith in but that you are having access to.

You may be training in the Vanguard Army, you may have access to spiritual laws to really create a reality for yourself, but in terms of what you will be taking forward to bring that healing, to bring that love, you have not yet received. What you possess now by way of means to transform, you will realise in future times now represents an impotence compared to what will be within your power to work with, the power of light, the power of your heart. The difference as between playing with a toy gun and a real gun, except of course it will not be anything of destruction. Shall we say a toy magic wand and a real magic wand, perhaps that is a better example. But that will be presented to you, when there is that new sense of freedom and joy and peace, because it is an army that will be characterised by joyfulness and the laughter and the celebration that are part of its daily uses.

Fallow periods

So in a fallow period, of course, there is nothing seemingly happening. But of course the purpose of leaving a field fallow is not only that it can rest, but so that it can also become richer for a greater harvest the next year. Now your field has to be left, perhaps ploughed up a little, so that new seeds can be planted. Perhaps those new seeds will be of a different nature to that which you have offered before, so that the nourishment, the sustenance that can be offered through you will be of a different kind.

JS: offered through me for others?

For others, yes, for the universe

A personal exhortation

Work still with people to heal them, to free them from their limitations, their limiting beliefs, to offer them that expectation of a life without definition and where they can all proudly say at the end of the day when somebody says what do you do , “ I don’t know, I just am”. So exalt them as the commander of your batallion. Command them through your love to come up to that level. Those of you who got the message first hand at the time of Christ this is the first time you’ve had the opportunity to put it into action. You’ve been 2,000 years in the cosmic closet. For the first time you can embody what the Christ exhorted you to do.

It’s taken 2,000 years of human and non-human experience too to actually come to this point. Now is the time that it is needed. It would not have been needed 2,000 years ago. Now is the threat to the planet and man has come to the next stage of his evolution.

We join as one spirit in our prayers for the completion of your journey of transformation to bring you into that life where your beingness is one of only deep and lasting peace, great and unending joy, unshakeable faith and perfect and eternal love.
